Former United Nations High Representative for Disarmament Affairs.<\/em>750<br>NEW YORK (IDN) \u2013 The entry into force of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/disarmament\/wmd\/nuclear\/tpnw\/\">TPNW<\/a>) on January 22 prompted many comments from different quarters on the importance and significance of this new addition to positive international law. In accordance with its Article 15.1 the Treaty entered into force 90 days after the deposit of the 50th instrument of ratification.
