About INPS JAPAN

HISTORY & OUR MISSION

Established in 2003, INPS Japan emerged as IPS Japan, the Non-profit autonomous Japanese chapter of Inter Press Service(IPS), a pioneering force in alternative media with a distinguished history dating back to 1964.
Our mission is to illuminate the voices of the marginalized and serve as an impartial conduit between citizens and stakeholders at all echelons, from the United Nations to governmental bodies, NGOs, and think tanks. Our goal is to democratize and broaden access to information. In collaboration with the Ozaki Yukio Memorial Foundation and like-minded organizations sharing our founding principles, IPS Japan has cultivated network for coverage and dissemination, primarily leveraging the networks of IPS and its partner organizations including Globalom Media(Currently INPS GgmbH), which was operated by the IPS European Director at the time.
In 2016, we responded to a request from Globalom Media, the distributor of IDN-InDepthNews in Germany, to launch a network of “independent and equally committed partners collaborating towards a common objective (=syndicate).” Consequently, we became a founding member of the International Press Syndicate (INPS), and the organization underwent a name transformation, becoming INPS Japan.
Since then, while actively engaging in media projects centered on themes such as nuclear disarmament, Education for Global Citizenship and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we have fostered alliances with news agencies and journalists worldwide who share our mission and direction.
INPS Japan remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing global peace and human coexistence by providing our readers with insightful, multifaceted analyses of the contemporary global landscape. Our ongoing efforts encompass research, cooperative reporting, and distribution activities, all designed to empower each reader to engage with our articles and contemplate meaningful actions towards resolving the world’s challenges. Explore our platform and join us on this journey towards a more informed and harmonious world.
