The one-millionth visitor celebration and the visit of the BIE Secretary General underscored Kazakhstan’s active role and contribution to the global Expo movement.

Since the opening of World Expo 2025 in Osaka, the Kazakhstan Pavilion has gained strong popularity among the exhibition’s numerous guests.

The Kazakhstan Pavilion welcomed its one-millionth visitor, Mr. Kosuke Hasegawa from Amagasaki, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. To mark this milestone, he received a special prize package: a business-class ticket for the upcoming direct route between Japan and Kazakhstan, scheduled to launch in 2026 by Air Astana, along with a two-night stay in one of Astana’s premium hotels. “It is a great honor for me to become the one-millionth visitor of the Kazakhstan Pavilion. I was impressed by its modern design, creative concept, and innovative digital content. Learning about Kazakhstan’s achievements in digitalization, economic growth, and investment potential was truly inspiring. After this visit, I sincerely want to travel to Kazakhstan and experience its mountains, steppes, and natural beauty with my own eyes,” – said Kosuke Hasegawa after his tour of the Pavilion.

The Pavilion also hosted the official visit of Mr. Dimitri Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE). His presence highlighted the Pavilion’s high level of organization and the rich substance of Kazakhstan’s presentation. During the visit, key aspects of Kazakhstan’s participation in Expo 2025 were discussed.

The BIE Secretary General’s visit reaffirmed the importance of Kazakhstan’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka as a global platform that draws the attention of millions, strengthens international trust, and opens new horizons for future initiatives.

Located in the “Connecting Lives” cluster, the Kazakhstan Pavilion is built around the symbol of the shanyrak and blends modern digital technologies with the country’s rich cultural heritage. In addition to highlighting advances in digitalization, the Pavilion showcases Kazakhstan’s potential in ecology, tourism, innovation, green energy, and sustainable development. Its engaging content and interactive exhibits have made it one of the most visited pavilions at Expo 2025, attracting wide coverage in the Japanese media.

World Expo 2025 opened on April 13, 2025, in Osaka under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, explored through three subthemes: “Saving Lives”, “Empowering Lives”, and “Connecting Lives”. According to the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, the event brings together 160 countries and 9 international organizations. The Expo will run until October 13, 2025.
